Signs of Overwatering
Mushy, translucent, almost water-logged leaves that flop over are the classic overwatering sign for aloe. Root rot sets in fast once the sandy mix stays wet.
Signs of Underwatering
Thin, slightly curled or puckered leaves show an aloe is ready for water, but it can tolerate several extra weeks of drought without lasting damage.
